How the AI coloring page generator works

Describe your idea
Write what you want to color in plain English, up to 500 characters. Name the subject, what it is doing and a simple setting, for example a fox reading under an autumn tree.

Pick style, shape and quality
Choose one of eight styles, one of seven page shapes from portrait and square to phone and widescreen, and Standard or High quality. The credit cost is shown next to the Generate button before you create.

Download and print
The page is drawn as clean black-and-white line art. When it is ready you can download a PNG plus A4 and US Letter PDFs, and print it at 100% scale.
02Tips
Tips for better coloring page prompts
Good prompts are specific about the main subject and simple about everything else. One clear character or object with one action usually prints better than a crowded scene. Mention the age of the person who will color the page, such as a preschooler or an adult, and choose the style that matches it.
Ask for large, closed shapes when the page is for young kids, and for patterns or fine details when it is for older kids and adults. Leave out colors, shading and text in your prompt: the generator draws outlines for you to fill in, so colored details do not carry over to the printed page.

Portrait pages suit most printers and characters, landscape pages suit wide scenes, and square pages work well for mandalas and patterns. Tall 2:3 and phone 9:16 pages fit bookmarks and phone screens, and wide pages print on a landscape sheet. Standard quality is a fast 1K generation for one credit. High quality is a more detailed 2K generation for two credits and is worth it for detailed and mandala pages. High quality comes with a subscription or a credit pack; trial credits use Standard.
05Privacy
Private by default, original by design
Your creations are saved privately under My Creations, where you can download them again later. They are never added to the public library. The generator is built for original, family-friendly ideas: prompts that ask for sexual, violent or hateful content, or that name well-known copyrighted characters or brands, are blocked before any credit is used. Generator questions
How many credits does one coloring page cost?
A Standard coloring page uses one credit and a High quality page uses two. Credits are reserved when you submit and only charged when a printable result is ready, so a failed generation does not use any credits.
Is the AI coloring page generator free?
You can make two Standard coloring pages without an account. A new account then gets six free credits, enough for six more Standard pages, unless the free tries were already used in the same browser or on the same network. After that the generator uses credits; the free printable library stays free to download either way.
Who can see the coloring pages I create?
Only you. Your prompts and creations are saved privately in your account under My Creations, and they are never added to the public coloring page library. You can go back to My Creations at any time to download the PNG or PDFs again.
Why was my prompt blocked?
Every prompt is checked by an automated content filter before an image is generated. Prompts that ask for sexual, violent or hateful content, or that name well-known copyrighted characters or brands, are blocked, and a blocked prompt uses no credits. Describe your own character instead, for example a friendly blue robot with round eyes, and the generator can draw an original design.
Which AI model draws the coloring pages?
Standard pages are drawn with Google’s Nano Banana 2 (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image) model and High quality pages with OpenAI’s GPT Image 2 model, both through our image provider APIMart, then turned into print-ready PNG and PDF files. ColoringPages is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, OpenAI or APIMart.
