I’m excited to share that I’ve added my first colouring book for adults! This one is the Detailed Fall Coloring Book for Adults, which contains twelve full autumn compositions filling most of each page. There are plenty of details throughout, such as fine feather, seed and leaf-vein details.
If you’d like to see what it looks like, just open the Detailed Fall Coloring Book for Adults to download and view the first few pages (or any number of pages) before committing to the whole book. And if you want to try out this style of detailed work but aren’t quite ready to commit to an entire book, then check out the individual ocean pages in my adult colouring collection.

If you’re not sure about how to choose a colouring book for adults, here’s a quick guide.
- Start by choosing a comfortable level of detail.
Choose a Comfortable Level of Detail
When selecting a colouring book for adults, start by considering the size and density of the colouring spaces. If you prefer broader spaces where you can quickly fill in large areas with a single colour or two, then look for books with roomier colouring spaces. On the other hand, if you enjoy intricate work with lots of small spaces, then opt for a more detailed book with finer lines and more patterned details.
The Detailed Fall Coloring Book for Adults has both! It’s got enough roomy areas so that you don’t feel like you’re working on a puzzle all day long, but it also has many small spaces suited to coloured pencils or fine-tip markers. The book also has some pretty detailed scenes, such as a cottage framed by leafy trees.
- Decide between bound books and printable PDFs.
Bound Books and Printable PDFs
Once you decide on the right amount of detail, then consider whether you want a bound book or a printable PDF version. Both options have their pros and cons, and neither format is inherently better than the other. The choice really comes down to personal preference.
Bound books typically have perforated pages, and sometimes they even have single-sided pages. So when purchasing a bound book, you’ll need to be aware of the features of the particular book you’re interested in.
Printable PDF versions usually give you more control over the pages you print. For example, I provide separate A4 and US Letter files for each book. That way, you can match your file to your paper size. I also offer the option to print at 100% or “actual size”, and I recommend portrait orientation. Of course, you can always print only the pages needed for your project. And every book page is also available as a free individual download.
- Choose the right tools.
Choose the Right Tools
Once you’ve decided on the right level of detail, and whether you want a bound book or a printable PDF, you’ll need to choose the right tools. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind.
First, make sure that the tip of your tool fits the size of the colouring spaces. If you use very fine tips, such as those used with fine-tip markers, then you might find that you get too much ink in the tiny spaces, especially if you use a regular printer paper. Fine-tip markers do suit intricate spaces, though. My adult collection recommends testing thick markers on spare paper, since they can bleed through ordinary printer paper. You can test this easily by printing a sample page and seeing if the marker bleeds through the paper. If you do notice bleed-through, then you can either switch to coloured pencils or just avoid using the marker on ordinary printer paper.
Second, if you’re printing the PDF and using markers, I recommend one-sided printing. That way, there’s no design on the reverse to spoil, though there’s no guarantee that the marker won’t bleed through the paper.
- Find the right book for you.
Find the Right Book for You
I hope you enjoyed the Detailed Fall Coloring Book for Adults! But if you’re looking for something different, then I have several other colouring books available.
My other adult collection includes some roomier ocean scenes, and some intricate animals, coral, and patterned details. If you’d rather have a quicker page, then the individual adult ocean pages would be a good alternative.
- Access and Printing Setup
Access and Printing Setup
To access the complete book, simply create a free account. Free accounts allow for 1 book download per day. Each book will come in one PDF file. Each of my current books contains 12 pages. Since the pages are printed one per sheet, you can print only the pages you need. I also include separate A4 and US Letter files for each book, so you can match your file to your paper size.
You can also download just one page if you want to try out the style of the book without committing to the whole thing. Every book page is also available as a free individual download.
